Hi Guys,

I have created a qcow2 image and raw image of a running VM and uploaded it to glance. However, when I create a new VMs out of any of these images. The base image get saved as:

/var/lib/nova/instances/_base/<id>

And then any new data that I write to the VM gets written under

/var/lib/nova/instances/<vm-id>/disk

What I want is create thick provisioned disk .Instead of having one base image and all the incremental data getting written on respective VMs disk file. I want to create multple base images on the Vms disk file itself. VM1 (base+incremental data): /var/lib/nova/instances/<vm1-id>/disk VM2 (base+incremental data): /var/lib/nova/instances/<vm2-id>/disk and so on.

Note: I have GlusterFS mount as "/var/lib/nova/instances" on all compute node. Is this possible ?

Thanks, Vijesh
