Hi, We have recently installaed ceilometer service in openstack using kolla-ansible. service enabled in globals.yml were ceilometer and gnocchi.however after installation there is no option for ceilometer in horizon gui. Are we missing something or do we need to install some additional ceilometer plugin for horizon.

Are telemetry services up and running? Do they appear in the service catalog (openstack service list)? Are you logged in as admin? Have you looked at the right place? Admin->System->Resource Usage

Logged in as admin no resource usage option in horizon.. Openstack service list does not show telemetry service... However all container for ceilometer are up and running

Ceilometer does not exists in pike anymore, only agent services. Functionality is provided by aodh, panko and gnocchi which need to be enabled independently.

As far as I understood these agent services are Ceilometer, or rather what is left of it ;) Only ceilometer-api,ceilometerclient and ceilometer-collector are deprecated.

To complete this answer: Yes, ceilometer-agents do still exist. But the Horizon Ceilometer Plugin is deprecated just as the above mentioned parts of Ceilometer. There is not Telemetry plugin for Horizon right now. You probably want to user Grafana and Gnocchi as an alternative.
