Hi there,

I have multiple instances of KVM on few servers (around 30, diffrent CPU, ram, age, disks). On every server i have installed centos + kvm + libvirt and i need a tool which will give me information - what is on servers, how much resources it need and so one. Now i have to log in into every server when i am looking for something (i am inventories everything to excel file, but i need something more comfortable). I don't need to do something on machines - like restart or stop etc.

Am i albe to do this with openstack? I know i can do cluster servers with it, but can't do it with my company network. Thanks for every advice!

It's not clear what information you need to retrieve from each server. OpenStack manages the resources required for running instances and can report them, but installing OpenStack for a task that can be done with simple scripting or something more sophisticated like Ansible seems overkill.

I am not sure what you try to achieve, but openstack is not just another layer to retrieve vm information, it is a whole ecosystem with several components that are strongly connected with each other.

For your task I would suggest that you use a monitoring tool like nagios and/or check_mk
