There are some place I don't understand in the openstacksdk-docs.

in the openstacksdk-docs, there are some place I don't understand. Such as:

 :orphan:
...
:term:`object-store` resources
...
:maxdepth: 2

what's the meaning of orphan, does it have some specific significance?

and what's the meaning of term and maxdepth in the .rst files ?

They are mark-ups for formatting. The documentation is written in a language named restructured text (thus the "rst" extension).
