Hi,

I was created windows server 2012 r2 qcow2 image using virt-install.I have installed cloudbase software in the qcow2 image. Then I was registered that image in centos7 openstack(newton) cloud. After that i was launched using with that image. I am getting blue screen error.

Try to attach the windows ISO file to the instance, I had a similar issue. You'll probably also need the virtio drivers, see this. This helped to launch windows instances in openstack.

  1. windows iso and virtio iso we need convert disk format as qcow2 or not ?
  2. windows iso and virtion we need to register in the openstack cloud or not?
  3. how to attach the iso and virtio iso to instance ?

First you create the windows image as described in the link, if that works you upload it to openstack, the disk format is dependent on your storage backend. If you want to be able to install windows VMs from within openstack, you'll have to upload the virtio.iso as a glance image (iso format).

To attach an iso to an instance you first need to create a volume from that iso and attach that volume to an instance. This way you can perform OS installations within openstack.

Hello, to boot iso instance on nova compute you need to have volume. https://ask.openstack.org/en/question...

Hi, Can you try download the Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard image which is available in this link, https://cloudbase.it/windows-cloud-images/ (https://cloudbase.it/windows-cloud-im...) and then , Unzip it and upload it to glance and see if you can create instances from it. I have it successfully running in my setup.
