Hi, with setting esxi as backing for compute, have a few qs on trying to get this to work. WHat do I set in nova.conf?

what do i set virt_type to in nova.conf -- it is usually qemu.

Also is it possible to just install packstack without setting use vmwarebackend = y, then reconfiguring nova?

# Describes the virtualization type (or so called domain type) libvirt should
# use.
#
# The choice of this type must match the underlying virtualization strategy
# you have chosen for this host.
#
# Possible values:
#
# * See the predefined set of case-sensitive values.
#
# Related options:
#
# * ``connection_uri``: depends on this
# * ``disk_prefix``: depends on this
# * ``cpu_mode``: depends on this
# * ``cpu_model``: depends on this
#  (string value)
# Allowed values: kvm, lxc, qemu, uml, xen, parallels
#virt_type=kvm
virt_type=vsphere -- Not sure if this is correct, its not on the list

for reference I have the following settings for nova.conf so far:

compute_driver=vmwareapi.VMwareVCDriver
vmware.host_username=<uname>
vmware.host_password=<pw>
vmware.cluster_name=<clustenrname>
vmware.host_port=<port>
vmware.insecure =true (since self signed ssl cert)
