Configure tempest for neutron

asked 2014-01-23 22:30:41 -0500

Hi, I'm new to using tempest. Could you tell me how to run tempest on devstack to just check the integration among Neutron, neutronclient, horizon and keystone and nothing else? I saw the tempest.conf file, but couldn't figure out what to change there.

Devstack will automatically clone the Tempest repo in the $DEST/tempest directory. (If you haven't overwritten DEST in your localrc, its default value is /opt/stack). In this repo, devstack will automatically fill the tempest.conf file with the correct parameters, so in most cases, you shouldn't need to modify it.

Note that as of today, Tempest won't test integration of Neutron with Horizon or the neutronclient.

In order to test the integration of Neutron and Keystone, you can run the Networking API tests like that. From the root of your Tempest directory:

./run_tempest.sh tempest.api.network

There's a simple test to cover the behaviour of the Neutron CLI you can run like this (make sure you have installed python-neutronclient first):

./run_tempest.sh tempest.cli.simple_read_only.test_neutron
