How did you set up OpenStack?

Googling for the error message gave me 200000 results, here is one that might fit your situation: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug....

It would help if you added a few more details. How did you set up OpenStack; some deployment methods like devstack can't be rebooted. It's a bit unclear where your Cinder backend resides - on a Windows system on Hyper-V??? Your backend seems to be LVM - did you check the LVM status?

set up is like openstack single node newton version on centos 7 and in win 2012 created iscsi virtual disk and given IP address of openstack for target and all works like creating volume n all but after when i reboot both win-2012 n openstack i get cinder-volume down controller@lvm reporting pbm

Hi check the cinder service cinder service-list +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+ | Binary | Host | Zone | Status | State | +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+ | cinder-backup | openstack-controller | nova | enabled | up | | cinder-scheduler | openstack-controller | nova | enabled | up | | cinder-volume | openstack-controller@lvm | nova | enabled | down | +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+

add sudo permission for cinder under /etc/sudoers

cinder ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL

check the cinder vg name at /etc/cinder/cinder.conf grep volume_group /etc/cinder/cinder.conf restart cinder service systemctl restart openstack-cinder-volume check the service again +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+ | Binary | Host | Zone | Status | State | +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+ | cinder-backup | openstack-controller | nova | enabled | up | | cinder-scheduler | openstack-controller | nova | enabled | up | | cinder-volume | openstack-controller@lvm | nova | enabled | up | +------------------+--------------------------+------+---------+-------+ run tailf /var/log/cinder/volume.log

Driver post RPC initialization completed successfully.
