Hi,

  1. Is it ok to use nova for network,or should I go only with Neutron. Because somewhere I came across a page saying "Nova is obslete"

  2. Using Mirantis Fuel to install openstack : While creating cloud environment, we are given options to choose Nova or Neutron. What is the difference ? Which one is better to go ? And if I am doing VLAN tagging my switch should I select the Neutron with VLAN segmentation option ? And also if I am VLAN tagging should I go for VLAN manager instead of flatDHCP manager in network settings.?

You can use nova-network. No issues. If you are setting up production network, you should go with neutron.

It is OK and even a good idea to start out using nova-networking, sure. It will be available at least until icehose+1, maybe even longer?

However, you really should learn about Neutron and how it works as that is the way forward.

It has taken me several weeks just to get around the basics of networking and how all the services work togheter. There really are no shortcuts and if you are not already well versed in network theory and concepts it will be a though challenge! Best of luck.
