When We shutoff an instance, value of network.outgoing.bytes meter of compute reset to zero. Thus we are unable to count exactly how many bytes are consumed by VM over a period of time.

Does this behavior is correct for ceiloemter ? if correct, how should we calculate number of incoming bytes over a period of time.

Thanks

  1. You can try to calculate the number of traffic bytes within each polling interval.
  2. When need to get the traffic statistics for a period of time, accumulate all the the number of traffic bytes calculated in step 1 during the time.
