It worked ok for creating a test volume but now it even with Cinder List it keeps asking for authentication...using the shown syntax is not also working.

Create a file (e.g. named "creds") with following information from your environment

export OS_TENANT_NAME= export OS_USERNAME= export OS_PASSWORD= export OS_AUTH_URL="http://<<ip hostname="">>:5000/v2.0/"

Save the file & use

source creds

you will not get the error. This has been in documentation. Please refer documentation carefully.

root@ubuntu:/etc/cinder# cinder create --displayname stackvolume 10 ERROR: You must provide a username via either --os-username or env[OSUSERNAME]

stack@ubuntu:~/devstack/lib$ cinder list ERROR: You must provide a username via either --os-username or env[OS_USERNAME] stack@ubuntu:~/devstack/lib$

Adding user/password comes back with

error: unrecognized arguments: --os-username stack --os-password d Try 'cinder help ' for more information. stack@ubuntu:~/devstack/lib$ cinder list --os-username stack --os-password d
