Hello, we do have openstack installed.. we create volumes. and can see the volumes in dashboard.. But, we are not seeng the tables in cinder schema.. We are suspecting that.. somewhere there is an sqlite database. this isreally surprising.. In addition cinder-manage db sync is not creating tables in cinder schema..

Any ideas

Hi, First try to delete the sqlite DB(/var/lib/cinder/cinder.sqllite), Then make sure in cinder.conf you have below if you are using Havana: connection = mysql://cinder:CINDER_DBPASS@localhost/cinder not sql_connection = mysql://cinder:CINDER_DBPASS@localhost/cinder Cheers

Mili is likely correct, here. Cinder has "found" a database, configured it and is somehow using it, otherwise you would not be able to create volumes. cinder-manage db sync is going to the same mystery DB as well.

Same here. I found the culprit by "strace -e open -f cinder-manage db version". It was a stale cinder.conf in ~root.
