Hi I am testing openstack with my personal laptop. I install it in Centos 7. I installed packstack and then openstack. But I found there is no open vswitch installed. So I install it separately and after that, I type `ovs-vsctl show´ commend and it showed nothing meaning that there is no bridge built. So , do I have to build bridge integration, bridge provider, and bridge tunnel ? If so, how to build them. Please guide me.

To get the attention of the packstack team, add a tag "RDO" to your question (I did that for you). I am not a packstack expert, but start by disabling network manager and by checking the log files under /var/tmp/packstack.

From the packstack quickstart page:

$ sudo systemctl disable firewalld
$ sudo systemctl stop firewalld
$ sudo systemctl disable NetworkManager
$ sudo systemctl stop NetworkManager
$ sudo systemctl enable network
$ sudo systemctl start network

Are you running the packstack command as root? If not, that might explain the permission problem reported in the log.

In my experience, packstack --allinone sets up networking with Openvswitch correctly. I have successfully installed Newton and Ocata and was also able to add separate compute nodes after the all-in-one deployment. If Openvswitch is not installed and configured, you either used incorrect packstack options or you might be missing prerequisites.

You can't exclude bugs in Packstack, though.

How did you install Packstack? Have you checked the log files for errors?
