I have an OpenStack Installation Running on 2 Computer Setup (1 Controller and 1 Compute Node). My Physical Network that I used to connect Controller and Compute nodes also provides me Internet using a Static IP (College Internet Network). I am using 2 IPs ( and 10.7) for the Controller and Compute. What should I do to have my Instances access the Internet? I tried putting the instances on the same subnet but I'm still not able to access the internet.

I followed the Newton Ubuntu Install guide In each of nodes there are two NICs with one connected to college internet with the two IPs as mentioned above and the other interface connects the controller and compute No IP is assigned to those interface

I configured it as the Self-service network but now when go by the guide to launch an instance, I am not to ping the addresses. What am I doing wrong

Urgent Help required! Thank you

Have you added rules for allowing icmp traffic in your security group that are associated with the instances or ports?

Can you capture in the router namespace using ip netns exec <router namespace> tcpdump -i any icmp -nn? Also check the route table in router

@kuro I can capture the traffic in that namespace and somehow I think the traffic is not getting routed from the vxlan to the physical interface. How do I route traffic from the vxlan interface to the physical ethernet interface?

Please paste the following o/p.

neutron agent-list on the controller node.

Your neutron net-list and configuration files.

Also paste if there are some errors in the logs.
