Hi there

I have build an small and tiny setup with OpenStack. It's an replacment of three VSphere Servers by me at homeoffice. And because the setup is so small, I realize it without cinder as storage backend. I think that cinder is currently just to big for me. But without cinder as storage backend, do I have something in the openstack-ecosystem to backup automaticly all my instances? I would like to ask before I hack something and they exists an allready well known and working solution. I could imagine to save backups as files or in something like swift. Thank you for sharing your experiences and your recommendations

all the best Darko

Note that Cinder only backs up volumes, not ephemeral storage. AFAIK openstack server backup create does the opposite - it backs up ephemeral storage, but not volumes, to Glance. Then there is a project named Freezer, which is dedicated to backing up physical and virtual servers.
