hello, When i execute openstack network agent list i get "ubuntu" along with host names "controller" and "compute", i made sure that /etc/hosts is properly configured like in the openstack official docs, but every agent is a double with the only difference is hostname and "alive = false" instead of true.

thank you,

It's not quite clear what the problem is. Can you post the output of openstack network agent list and point out what parts are not as expected?

I might be wrong, but I believe that the hostname, not the content of /etc/hosts, names the nodes in the agent list.

thx for replying, i made the mistake of creating the agents with bad hostname in each machine, but when i fixed it, instead of replacing the gants hostname, it actually added new ones to the table. so instead of 5 agents i get 10 agents, 5 working and 5 not working, how to them off my systems.

I only see three agents in the table, not 10. Why do you say it's big?

I believe the old agents are still in Neutron's database, and Neutron is not aware that they don't exist anymore. You can get rid of them with openstack network agent delete AGENT-ID.

hahahah that's just 1/4 of the whole table in that picture xD
