Where do all the OpenStack components store their data? Is Mongo DB or MySql the default Database Backend?

Depends of the service, most services use relational databases like mariadb and others use no relational as mongodb.

You must run mysql as db-backend for standard services. Postgresql ist currently absolutely broken. Using postgresql you will get a lot of broken inserts or selects. I've tried to use postgresql a couple of weeks ago and I never have seen such a full postgresql errorlog before. I'm wory about it :(

default Its Mariadb on controller nodes.

This is how you can access the db . [root@controller ~(keystone_admin)]# mysql -u root -p Enter password: Welcome to the MariaDB monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MariaDB connection id is 424 Server version: 10.1.20-MariaDB MariaDB Server

Copyright (c) 2000, 2016, Oracle, MariaDB Corporation Ab and others.

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the current input statement.

MariaDB [(none)]> show databases; +--------------------+ | Database | +--------------------+ | cinder | | glance | | information_schema | | keystone | | mysql | | neutron | | nova | | performance_schema | | test | +--------------------+ 9 rows in set (0.00 sec)
