I can retrieve the last_updated_time for various resources via API but i do not know what the delta is between that tin me and the time of the VM I am calling the request on. Is there an API method to retrieve the current time according to Openstack?

Thanks, Toru

The resolution of those timestamps is only 1s anyway, so this should never be an issue if you're keeping your clocks in sync with NTP.

I don't know of an API to just retrieve the time.

Hi @zanweb, thanks for the reply, the problem is i cannot guarantee that my "client" machine and the running cloud will be sync'd off the same NTP server. They might even be in different time-zones.

It's hard to believe that your NTP time would generally be off by more than a few hundred milliseconds, so smaller than the resolution of the timestamp. Time zones are completely irrelevant.
