I want to install openstack on my development machine, but would like to shut it down when I don't need it.

Is this an acceptable way to shutdown openstack?

for script in /etc/init.d/openstack-*;
do
    $script stop;
done

And is this ok for starting?

for script in /etc/init.d/openstack-*;
do
    $script start;
done

Yes you can go ahead and do the same. No harm. Also ensure that you stop db and Messageque servers as well.

The link was broken - it should be this: [http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v48r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.sco.doc_2.2/t_managing_openstack.html]
