I got an error when try to increase quota for ram for user:

nova quota-update --user $tenantUser --ram 51200000 $tenant ERROR (BadRequest): Quota limit 51200000 for ram must be less than or equal to 512000. (HTTP 400) (Request-ID: req-727ab827-13aa-41e9-8d5d-b4555b1288d4)

Can you tell me how to increase this quota or we only have 512000 for every user? Thanks,

I believe the maximum quotas are set in /etc/nova/nova.conf. Under the [quotas] section will need to change (or add if ram= isn't there) ram=51200000 to increase the maximum amount of ram that can be allocated per project.

Then reload values from this file by restarting nova with systemctl restart openstack-nova-api.

After completing these steps your quota increase command should work. I believe the latest syntax is something like: openstack quota set --ram 51200000 yourTargetProjectName

actually, now that I'm testing a bit more, this value might override user-specific quotas rather than be an upper bound for them. Not an ideal fix, but maybe a temporary workaround for you (and me) I guess.
