I have to assign ip address concrete with dhcp , but this ip-address currently is in use by other instance

¿can I liberate this ip-address for use "neutron port-update ...." , if Idon't know what instance is using it?

You can change the port, but I doubt the instance will be aware of it, and it will just continue using its IP address.

You can, however, find out which instance uses the port. As admin, run openstack port show. If the device_id is compute:nova, then device_owner is the instance.

Thanks. I had to re-assig ip addresses for the actual instance and for the new instance, with the follow command:

neutron port-update <port_id> --fixed-ip subnet_id=<subnet_id>,ip_address=”<ipaddress>”
