So I installed OpenStack-Ansible based on the model on Appendix A. (https://docs.openstack.org/project-de...)

The thing is that I will probably need to restart the whole Infrastructure Control Plane Host and I have no clue what kind of effect will the restart might have on the openstack services currently running on the Control host.

So my questions are:

1) What happens if I reboot my Control Plane Host? Will the services go back on?

2) If not is there a unison way to bring up ALL the Control Plane Host services back up, or do I need to remember all the services running and start them one by one? And if the second part is true, then

  • how can I know which specific services are running on my Control Plane Host ?
  • how do I bring those services back on ?

3) Is restarting the Control Plane Host going to permanently break the operation of my OpenStack?

Thank you in advance for your time,

VG

You can restart the the Control Plane Host, the API and network maybe not working during the reboot (because netowrk container works on this hosts) but the vms will contnue to work. All the containers are designed to auto started.

Just for the record... you can restart all your containers using this syntax:

for container in $(lxc-ls -f | grep -v NAME | awk '{ print $1 }'); do echo "Starting: $container..."; lxc-start -d -n $container; done
