I have Mitaka all-in-one installation on Ubuntu 16.04. Kernel is 4.4.0-64-generic.

When the host is started Linux bridge cleanupfails with following error:

Feb 23 09:48:38 mitaka-host systemd[1]: Starting OpenStack Neutron Linux bridge cleanup...
    Feb 23 09:48:46 mitaka-host neutron-linuxbridge-cleanup[1887]: Guru mediation now registers SIGUSR1 and SIGUSR2 by default for backward compatibility. SIGUSR1 will no longer be registered in a future release, so please use SIGUSR2 to generate reports.

    Feb 23 09:48:49 mitaka-host systemd[1]: neutron-linuxbridge-cleanup.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

After this I can start instances normally but there is no network connectivity to them. If I manually start Linux bridge agent with service neutron-linuxbridge-agent start connectivy to the host fails for short while and after that connections to instances start working. After that everything works fine until the host is restarted again.

This seems to be most relevant line of log:

Tunneling cannot be enabled without the local_ip bound to an interface on the host. Please configure local_ip 192.168.111.11 on the host interface to be used for tunneling and restart the agent.

My configuration of /etc/neutron/plugins/ml2/linuxbridge_agent.ini:

[DEFAULT]
[agent]
[linux_bridge]
physical_interface_mappings = provider:eno1
[securitygroup]
enable_security_group = True
firewall_driver = neutron.agent.linux.iptables_firewall.IptablesFirewallDriver
[vxlan]
enable_vxlan = True
local_ip = 192.168.111.11
l2_population = True

Should the local_ip be configured somewhere else also?

I was about to ask that question too. I'm following the install guide for Debian and have the same problem. I've tried the self-service and provider network config, but neutron-linuxbridge-agent is always in failed state.

It seems Neutron wants you to configure the physical interface with this IP address, e.g. in /etc/network/interfaces.

The problem was caused by network configuration of the host.

Host was configuted to get Ip from DHCP but server had not given IP yet when Linux bridge agent needed it.

Solution was to configure static IP.
