Hello,

I have a server running CentOS 7.3.1611 I am trying to configure OpenStack networking on.

  • 8 GB memory
  • 4 cores
  • 80 GB HDD
  • Dual 1 GB Nics

This host requires additional ip addresses to be assigned by created a virtual interface off the ifcfg-lo interface instead of creating a virtual interface on a device. https://support.packet.net/en/support...

ex: ifcfg-lo:0, ifcfg-lo:1

Being that my bridge "br-ex" is off my bonded interface, as neutron maps floating ips to instances, they are not assessable due to the requirement of all additional ip addresses needing to be on the ifcfg-lo. They also told me that each bare metal server is in a layer3 network and suggested I create a layer 2 network. Sounds like an interesting idea, but the instructions are for Ubuntu and I use Centos 7: https://support.packet.net/en/support...

So I am trying to see how to go about this layer2 network.

I have follows these instructions for success at a different Hosting company: https://www.rdoproject.org/networking...

I would appreciate any insight or suggestions on getting this working
