CINDER: how to get a timestamp from a volume indicating the last 'touch' of any file/dir inside?

How to get a timestamp from a volume indicating the last 'touch' of any file/dir inside? e.g., What is the timestamp for the most recent write/create for anything in the volume ?

Cinder: I do not want to have to attach or mount the volume to do this. I tried looking into the Cinder db--> 'volumes' table. There I can query 'updated_at' timestamp .. but does not reflect creation or modification of files/dirs in the volume.

Help? Thanks.

Perhaps Ceilometer meters like disk.device.write.requests help. See http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide.... Unfortunately, these metrics identify a disk with instanceUUID-device, e.g. 5cf2....-vda. You'd have to map this to the volume.
