Hello,

I have my openstack with 3 projects (project1, project2, project3), in the project members I have user1 and admin.

I login with my admin account and I go to project1, I create one instanace and then when I go to the CLI using my admin credentials, I do a "nova list" and I dont see any instance.

But if I login with my user1 via GUI I can see my instance running.

the same issue for all the projects.

how can i fix my cli issue?

thanks all.

Hi all,

Thanks for the answers, if I'm using the admin_openrc file, can I make changes to the other projects from the cli?

Thanks

As admin, you can make various changes like deleting projects' resources, rebooting instances, attaching volumes, and creating some (not all types afaik) resources on behalf of projects.

Good question. I don't have the answer, but it shouldn't be too hard to try it out.

When you run nova list, you see the instances of your project. Since the admin project owns no instances in your example, you get an empty list. You can see all instances this way: nova list --all-tenants

Hi,

You can use nova list --all-tenants when you are admin

Sounds like you used your admin and logged in with admin tenant, while all those instances were created under projectx tenants. Your should change "expose TENANT_NAME=admin" to "expose TENANT_NAME=projectx"
