can compute node communicate with nova instances (with internal IP) without floating ip assignment?

I want to make communication between compute-node & vm created by nova on that compute node. Using Neutron I have created a network & a subnet of 192.168.1.0/24. I have booted a vm for that tenant & it got IP as 192.168.1.7; My compute node is network 192.168.122.0/24. I am able to assign floating IP to the created vm as 172.24.4.5 & I am able to communicate with vm using that (172.24.4.5) ip.

But I don't want to use floating IP, still want the communication between them. (may be over internal network 192.168.1.0/24) Is there any way?

The only two ways I can think of: 1. Creating an Openstack Provider network and subnet: Assign to VM one of the ports from Openstack Provider networks. 2. Attaching to network namespace.

I also came across similar issue and got it resolved by following steps in this blog: http://abregman.com/2016/01/06/openstack-neutron-troubleshooting-and-solving-common-problems/ (http://abregman.com/2016/01/06/openst...)

Hope this helps :)
