I deleted the openstack admin role by accident on Openstack Liberty running on Ubuntu 14.04.

openstack role delete admin

After that, I can no longer perform any other operations with the openstack command. The command returns "The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-fcebde34-111e-4bfd-b062-c17387ac103f)"

I am able to see non-admin roles direct in mysql. The admin user and admin project are still there.

Is there anything I can do to recover from this situation such as bypass keystone to recreate the admin role, or assign admin privileges to one of the other roles, or modify mysql directly?

use the OS_TOKEN to bypass authentication, as documented at http://docs.openstack.org/liberty/ins....
