I have installed three different version of openstack include mitaka, liberty, and newton. All have the same issue cannot access my instance. the instances it keep saying that its starting and even though it has an ip address. I been trying to resolved this issue from last week and haven't figured out. I have installed created openstak multi node cluster more than 50 times and always successful but from last week facing different issues during running packstack for first time. Some time it's giving me errors on mariadb service not starting during the installtion even its a firstime installtion. I have installed on centos7.3, RHEL7.3 and Centos7.1 and as well. All have the same issue and I have done this installation on vcenter and vmware fusion as well. I believe repository have some issue.

I have deployed single node cluster on vmware and it's not letting me access the instance. But the intresting part when I have deployed single node cluster on virtualbox, I can easily access to instance and the instance can ping to external network as well.

First steps to troubleshoot instances without network access:

  • Check the instance's security groups
  • Check Neutron agents
  • Use the console to check if DHCP was successful
  • If not, set an IP address manually
  • If there is connectivity, troubleshoot DHCP
  • If not, troubleshoot connectivity

By the way, if you want others to help, provide configuration, error and log details, and solve the database problem first.

Have the instances booted? I find that there are no volumes being created for my volumes so they show active and running, but when I look at the console they show "Starting up ... " or a pxe timeout.

after I have ran this command/usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -version QEMU emulator version 2.6.0 (qemu-kvm-ev-2.6.0-27.1.el7), Copyright (c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard. it seems like that issue is with libvirt version. I have also installed virt-manager on same environment and try to launch an instance but unfortunately cannot launch instance. The intresting part is I have lab environment where I can launch a instance and intsall virt-manager could install instance and the lab environment is using the previuos version of qemu-kvm-ev-1.3.7

I have tried all possible ways to access the instances but there is no luck. Instance can access in virtualbox environment but not on vmware
