Password Injection Through Horizon

Hi All,

I am currently setting up a Openstack environment and I have hit a roadblock. Through using Horizion I want to be able set the root password for VMs (ubuntu, centos etc...)

I have read guides that suggest setting:

OPENSTACK_HYPERVISOR_FEATURES = { ... 'can_set_password': True, }

However, on Horizion, there is still no option to set a password for a VM. Here is the guide I have used to setup the system: http://www.linuxtechi.com/multiple-node-openstack-liberty-installation-on-centos-7-x/ (http://www.linuxtechi.com/multiple-no...)

Any help on how to set this up would be appreciated.

I think you are hitting https://bugs.launchpad.net/horizon/+b..., sory switching to legacy launch interface via LAUNCH_INSTANCE_LEGACY_ENABLED to True in local_settings.py

-consider using config drive (I have not tried to do it myself though). Metadata service is typically a worse alternative.

Thank you very much, I now have the option through the GUI, however when the password is injected, I am still unable to login with the new password. The password I set through the GUI is not being set in the image.

I'm a using a Centos 6.8_64bit image.

Cheers

there are few parameters in nova (/libvirt) that you need to check. Google it up and let us know here how it went

Thank you this has help a lot. On the compute node (in nova.conf), I have now set:

inject_password=true enable_instance_password=true

However once the instance has been deployed, the password is still not set.

Any help would be appreciated.
