As for currently implementation, all the data should goes to ceilometer default database (i.e mongodb), the easiest way you can check that is login with mongo db and do use ceilometer show tables you will see metric and other tables

then search the data you want in metric table,the desired record should be found. db.metric.findOne(

Another way is use the ceilometer cli ceilometer statistics -m volume.size

The third way is use the ceilometer rest api for details check this link http://developer.openstack.org/api-ref-telemetry-v2.html
