Hi all,

ping from instance to internet does not work. Instance's floating IP is 192.168.178.135. It looks like my controller cannot resolve its MAC Address.

[root@openstack ~(keystone_admin)]# arp -n

Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface

192.168.178.50 ether 30:52:cb:84:b3:d9 C br-ex

192.168.178.101 ether 00:0c:29:0e:45:79 C br-ex

192.168.178.1 ether 08:96:d7:41:bf:18 C br-ex

192.168.178.120 ether 00:0c:29:ed:22:d5 C br-ex

192.168.178.135 (incomplete) br-ex

My controller's IP is 192.168.178.100. In wireshark I see arp request from my controller asking for 192.168.178.135. But no reply.

I am using vmware, and my br-ex is bridged.

How can I solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi all,Finally I resolved this. My external network had a vlan network type, and therefore had a segmentation id, but my physial router where I have bridged this connection doesnt have any vlan. So to resolve this I created a flat network.
