The machine does not look to be right. It says machine='pc-i440fx-zesty', but should it not be machine='pc-i440fx-xenial?

Update (2017-03-06):

I have found a solution. Adding the following configuration to my nova-compute.conf solved the issue:

[libvirt]
hw_machine_type = "x86_64=pc-i440fx-xenial,i686=pc-i440fx-xenial"
